Fab Lab Express is a hands-on custom orthotics central fabricator, founded in 2017 by John Gray, LO. Having worked for many years in both patient care and fabrication, John understands the importance of communication and attention to detail to give the customer and patient what they really want.

Our Story
John Gray, LO, started in the orthotics field in 1989, doing both patient care and fabrication when it was common to have multiple technicians and practitioners carrying out the entire fabrication process in facilities' onsite lab. "Being able to take part in the actual creation of the device, as well as witnessing the impact that a proper fitting brace can offer, inspired me to always put the patient's outcome first."
As technical staff numbers started declining, and more and more orthotics practices began to outsource custom and special designs, he realized an opportunity to bridge the gap. He made the decision to follow his passion for the technical side and founded Fab Lab Express in 2017.
Today, Fab Lab Express has technicians who have been trained by John in the nearly lost art of custom, made by hand orthotics. The combined experience of both the clinical and technical aspects allows for a multifaceted approach to the complex nature of custom orthotic bracing. Looking towards the future, Fab Lab plans to expand the lab and build on their current services as the business grows, while continuing to meet our customers' and their patients' needs.
On a personal note, John is a devoted family man that enjoys spending time outdoors with his loved ones. Fishing, boating, hiking, and camping is how he and his wife, Jessica, like to spend their free time. "I have been an avid outdoorsman since I was a young boy. I grew up in the country, and my Dad would take us kids hunting and fishing every chance he got. I really enjoy sharing my love of nature and the outdoors with my family and friends."
